1. Google Play Data Safety Declaration
Sati Timer is an offline-first meditation timer. In compliance with the Google Play Data Safety requirements:
Data Collection & Sharing Answers:
- Data collected: "No" (Zero personal data collected).
- Data shared with third parties: "No".
- Ephemeral processing: Not applicable (no network transmission).
- Internet permission: Not requested (
android.permission.INTERNETis omitted). - Advertising & Analytics: Zero SDKs. No AdMob, Firebase, or tracking code.
2. Local SQLite Storage & User Data Control
All data created during your use of Sati Timer remains strictly on your local device:
- Session History: Saved to a local encrypted SQLite database using Android Room.
- Preferences: Timer durations, theme (Zen Obsidian or Zen Jade), and sound settings are saved in Android Preferences DataStore.
- User Deletion: You can purge all records anytime via Settings ➔ Clear History. Uninstalling the app permanently purges all on-device databases.
- JSON Backup: Export or restore practice logs via Android Storage Access Framework.
3. Android Foreground Service & Permissions Justification
Sati Timer requests only the minimal Android system permissions strictly necessary to perform its core offline meditation timer functions:

| FOREGROUND_SERVICE | Provides the base foreground-service capability so meditation timing runs reliably in the background. |
| SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW | Enables the optional Dynamic Island floating timer capsule while the app is in the background. Disabled by default; requires explicit user activation. |
4. Children’s Privacy (COPPA & Families Policy)
Target Audience: Everyone (all ages). Sati Timer does not collect any personal data from anyone, including children under 13. Complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and EU GDPR.
