At Sati Chant, we believe that contemplative practice must be shielded from surveillance and commercialization.

Sati Chant does not collect, harvest, store, transmit, or share any user data whatsoever:

• No Personal Identifiers: No names, email addresses, phone numbers, biometric data, or user accounts. You never have to register, log in, or create a profile.
• No Device Identifiers: No Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), Identifier for Vendors (IDFV), MAC address, IMEI, or hardware serial numbers.
• No Geolocation Data: No GPS coordinates, cellular tower triangulation, Wi-Fi BSSID scanning, or IP-based location lookups.
• No Usage Analytics or Behavioral Telemetry: No event counters, button-tap trackers, session timers, or reading-speed telemetry are transmitted off your device.
• No External Crash Reporting SDKs: No third-party reporting services (e.g., Firebase, Sentry, Bugsnag).
• No Advertising or Commercial Trackers: No advertising networks, programmatic mediation SDKs, or data broker integrations.

In accordance with Theravāda monastic tradition, the Dhamma is priceless and freely shared (Dhamma Dāna):

• Sati Chant is 100% free of charge.
• There are no in-app purchases (IAP), no paid subscriptions, and no donation prompts within the app.
• We never collect, process, or store credit card details, banking credentials, or financial payment tokens.

To provide a distraction-free, personalized chanting experience, Sati Chant stores certain operational preferences strictly within your local device container:

All locally stored data remains exclusively on your device. It is never transmitted across the internet, backed up to proprietary clouds, or accessible to other applications.

Under global data protection laws (including GDPR Articles 15–22 and CCPA/CPRA), you have complete sovereignty over your information:

• Right to Access & Portability: You can export your calibrated liturgy timing data at any time via the standard iOS Share Sheet (ShareLink) as an open, portable JSON file.
• Right to Rectification & Reset: You can reset individual verse calibrations, liturgical playlists, or custom titles back to canonical defaults with a single tap inside the app.
• Right to Complete Erasure: You can delete all locally recorded history and preferences at any time simply by uninstalling the app. When Sati Chant is deleted from iOS, Apple's operating system container irrevocably purges all UserDefaults and application support files immediately.

• Microphone & Camera: Sati Chant does not access, request, or record through your device microphone or camera.
• Audio Output: Sati Chant uses Apple's native AVFoundation framework exclusively to decode and play bundled, offline chanting audio.
• Headphone & Temple Etiquette: To safeguard the silence of monasteries, meditation halls, and temples, the app observes audio route changes (AVAudioSession.routeChangeNotification). If your headphones, AirPods, or Bluetooth devices are disconnected during playback, audio pauses immediately.
• Thermal & Background Power Optimization: When audio plays with your screen off or device locked, interface rendering loops are terminated or dropped to minimal frequency. Your device hardware stays cool, avoiding overheating and conserving battery life.

In strict adherence to Apple's App Store mandate, Sati Chant includes a certified PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy manifest:

Sati Chant does not collect any personal information from any user, including children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). The application is suitable and safe for monastics, lay disciples, families, and children of all ages.

Because our sanctuary philosophy is rooted in zero telemetry and zero commercialization, the core principles of this policy will never change. Any minor updates required for future iOS operating system revisions will be documented in our release notes and published on our website (www.satibhavana.com).
