Privacy Policy for Sati Player (iOS)

Sati Player does not collect, track, transmit, sell, or share any personal information.

The App stores only what it needs to function, and only on-device:

• Folder bookmarks — security-scoped references to folders you chose, so the App can reopen your library.
• Track metadata edits (cleaned titles, speakers, monasteries, dates) — your overrides live in the App, never in your files.
• Playlists & curation — your custom playlists and track orderings.
• Playback state & notes — resume timestamps, listening history, and timestamped reflection notes.
• App settings (theme, language, speed, skip intervals, sleep timer) — to remember your preferences.

Purpose for all of the above: core app functionality only. Nothing is used for profiling, advertising, or any secondary purpose.

• Document picker access: files open only after you choose them in the iOS system picker. The App never scans or crawls anything outside the folders you selected.
• Security-scoped bookmarks: every file access is opened and closed within the same scope, and iCloud items are coordinated to prevent conflicts.
• Streaming cache: temporary audio and video buffers live in the sandboxed Caches folder, are excluded from backup, and can be purged anytime in Settings.
• Background audio: the audio session is active only while media plays, and stops the moment playback pauses, finishes, or the sleep timer ends. No silent keep-alives.

Sati Player requests no sensitive hardware permissions and makes no network calls.

The App does not access or collect: your name, email, or any account identity; location; contacts; photos; camera or microphone input; motion or health data; device advertising or vendor identifiers; or any analytics, diagnostics, or usage telemetry. It has no backend servers and transmits nothing off your device.

• We share nothing with third parties, because we hold nothing to share.
• The App provides no media of its own — every talk, chant, and video you hear is supplied solely by you from your device or iCloud Drive.
• You are responsible for having the lawful right or permission to play the files you import.

On-device data is kept until you remove it.

• Removing a linked folder relinquishes its bookmark immediately and purges its history and playback records.
• Backup files you exported live wherever you saved them; manage or delete those copies yourself — the App never uploads them anywhere.
• Deleting the App deletes all of its on-device data, including bookmarks, playlists, notes, and preferences.

Your data is protected by the iOS app sandbox and your device’s encryption and passcode. No network transmission means no interception risk. Temporary caches are excluded from backup, and once you share a backup file yourself, its safety depends on where you put it.

Sati Player is rated 4+ and collects zero data from every user of every age, which satisfies COPPA and equivalent children’s-privacy rules worldwide. There is no age gate because there is nothing to gate.

Sati Player is an educational media player for discourses, chanting, and personal recordings. It provides no medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice, and makes no health or efficacy claims — the sleep timer and phrase loops are study conveniences.

If the App’s privacy behavior ever changes, this policy will be updated, the effective date revised, and material changes noted in the App’s release notes. The current version always ships in step with the App release it describes.
