Privacy Policy for Sati Player (Android)

Sati Player does not collect, track, transmit, sell, or share any personal information.

The App stores only what it needs to function, and only on-device:

• Media folders you choose — played back locally; file names are read to build your library and normalize titles.
• Library database (tracks, playlists, folders, bookmarks, playback progress) — so the App remembers your library and resume positions.
• App settings (theme, language, skip intervals, playback speed, sleep timer) — to remember your preferences.
• Playback notification — shows the current track and transport controls while playing.

Purpose for all of the above: core app functionality only. Nothing is used for profiling, advertising, or any secondary purpose.

• Folder access (Storage Access Framework): the App can only read media in the specific folders you explicitly select with the system picker. It never requests broad all-files access, and you can revoke access at any time in system Settings.
• Foreground service (media playback): keeps audio playing when the App is in the background. The service runs only while media is actively playing and releases immediately on pause or stop.
• Notifications: used solely for playback controls and resume prompts. No marketing or unrelated notifications are ever sent.
• Wake lock: held only during active video playback where applicable; never during paused audio.

Your library leaves the App only when you personally carry it out:

• Android system backup may include app data per your device backup settings (governed by the system's data extraction rules).
• Library backup/export files are created only when you explicitly request them, and are saved to a location you choose. The developer never receives these files.

Sati Player requests no sensitive permissions and makes no network calls — the App declares no network permissions.

The App does not access or collect: your name, email, or any account identity; location; contacts; photos; camera or microphone input; health or fitness data; device advertising identifiers; or any analytics, diagnostics, or usage telemetry. It has no backend servers and transmits nothing off your device.

All app data resides in the App's private on-device storage, protected by the Android sandbox and your device lock. No data traverses a network, so there is no transmission to secure. Once you share an export file yourself, its safety depends on where you put it.

On-device data is kept until you remove it.

• Remove a linked folder from the Library tab to stop the App reading it.
• Clear app storage (system Settings → Apps → Sati Player → Storage) to delete the library database, settings, and cached data.
• Uninstalling the App deletes all on-device app data.

Sati Player is suitable for general audiences and collects zero data from every user of every age, which satisfies COPPA and equivalent children’s-privacy rules worldwide. There is no age gate because there is nothing to gate.

Sati Player is an educational media player for discourses, chanting, and personal recordings. It provides no medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice, and makes no health or efficacy claims — the sleep timer and playback tools are study conveniences.
